Made these for my sister in laws Hen Do and they were a big hit. I was so so pleased with how they came out and I really do use your books and this website for ALL of my sweet baking recipes. I used the vanilla extract in the cake recipe as I didn’t want to pay extra for prosecco flavouring as I’d not use it again, but I think it would be worth the purchase if I ever did these again to make it extremely prosecco flavoured.

I am interested in making this for a friend’s 40th bday and would like to use the Prosecco soaked raspberries. How did you go about making the soaked raspberries please? Or can you use soaked strawberries?

Thank you!

In reply to Mark.

Can this be adapted for an 8 inch cake and would you just pour the drizzle over both layers before buttercream

Would the butter be able to be substituted for lactose free butter?

I sometimes warm the bowl it will go in! I use hot water in the bowl, leave it to stand for a few mins, tip it out then dry it fully and add the butter in to soften

Thanks xx

It depends on the brand of flavouring you use, and also personal taste – I prefer it strong!! x

I tried the tsp quantity and it’s not very nice.
