What eggs are you using? Are you using a carton or fresh? If a meringue fails its either the eggs (some cartoned ones are problematic), or there was something in the meringue such as bit of egg yolk x

This is likely due to the chocolate used – what brand did you use? You can melt it down, and add more to help it set. Or freeze it for a firmer structure x

What butter are you using? And do you have an oven thermometer? And are you chilling the dough? Usually cookies spread as a butter substitute has been made, or the oven is too cool, or the dough is too warm! x
